Continental has once again confirmed its position as premium tyre manufacturer in independent tyre tests for the 2025 summer season. From the comparative tests published so far, the brand’s summer tyres have taken first place ten times and second place four times. It is worth noting that independent tyre tests play a key role for many drivers in Europe. According to a 2023 study, more than two-thirds of European tyre buyers pay special attention to test results when choosing a model.
SportContact 7 Leads with Seven Wins
The SportContact 7 has frequently been in the spotlight, winning seven out of eight tests, including those conducted by ADAC and the specialist magazines Sport Auto and AUTO BILD sportscars. The SportContact 7 was developed for powerful sports vehicles, whether combustion or electric. Tyre experts particularly praise its successful combination of driving dynamics, control, and safety.
The PremiumContact 7 also performed well this season. British magazine Tyre Reviews named it the winner of its summer tyre test. AUTO BILD was doubly impressed with the tyre, awarding it second place in its electric vehicle test and the “VorBILDlich” (“exemplary”) rating in its major summer tyre test. It also took second place in Swedish magazine Aftonbladet. Designed as a balanced tyre for all surfaces, the PremiumContact 7 targets drivers who value safety and comfort.
The UltraContact NXT, Continental’s most sustainable car tyre, had a strong debut in tests. In trials conducted by Polish magazine Motor and German magazine Auto, Motor und Sport, the UltraContact NXT impressed with its high safety performance while excelling in sustainability. It contains up to 65% renewable, recycled, or mass-balance-certified materials and received the top “A” rating in the EU tyre label for rolling resistance, wet braking, and external noise across all 19 sizes.
“Our tyres consistently achieve excellent results in independent tests, a result that speaks for itself,” says Andreas Schlenke, Continental tyre expert. “Just last year, we won 39 tests across Europe. Our continued success in 2025 confirms the excellence of our development work.”
