Linglong Sport Master 4S wins AvD’s “Best Value for Money” title after scoring 4.1/5, praised for braking, handling, and comfort.
Chinese Manufacturers Are Quickly Catching Up – AvD
Linglong Tire‘s Sport Master 4S has been selected as the best “value for money” tyre by the Automobile Club of Germany (AvD), after scoring 4.1 out of possible 5 in a test that involved eight other tyres in the 205/45 R17 size.
The test saw nine all-season tyres competing in various disciplines and surfaces. On dry roads, the Sport Master 4S impressed with its short braking distances, precise handling, and stable cornering, thanks to a newly developed tread compound, an optimised carcass construction, and a larger contact patch. Meanwhile, the silica tread compound minimises abrasion, noise, and rolling resistance to ensure comfort and high mileage.
“This shows once again that Chinese manufacturers are quickly catching up in terms of quality, not only in the automotive sector, but also in the tyre sector,” wrote the AvD, according to Linglong Tire‘s official statement.
On wet and snowy surfaces, the Sport Master 4S also showed strong performance with its strong grip and effective aquaplaning, made possible by its V-shaped tread pattern with special 3D sipes, elastic rubber compound, and wide grooves.
“This test victory proves the high quality of our products, confirms our excellent development work in Europe and China, and underlines that high quality and an attractive price are very compatible,” said Wolf Fuder, Head of Marketing of Linglong Tire Europe.
The Linglong Sport Master 4S was developed in Hanover, Germany, and tested in Spain, China, and under winter conditions in Ivalo, Finland. The tyre is produced in China and Serbia, and currently available in 60 sizes from 13 to 19 inches, with further sizes in the pipeline.
