The Advan V61 premium SUV tyre is now fitted as OE on Toyota’s new RAV4 hybrid variants sold globally.
Advan V61 Developed Using HAICoLab Framework
Yokohama Rubber has begun supplying its Advan V61 tyres as original equipment for Toyota Motor’s newly launched RAV4 hybrid SUV, extending the tyre maker’s presence on high-volume global models.
The company said on January 7, 2025, that the Advan V61 is fitted on the Z and Adventure variants of the new RAV4, which Toyota began selling worldwide in December 2025. The tyres are supplied in sizes 235/65R17 104H and 235/60R18 103H.
The Advan V61 is a premium summer tyre for SUVs and forms part of Yokohama Rubber‘s global flagship Advan brand. The model went on sale in Japan and other markets outside North America in March 2025 and is designed to balance fuel efficiency, handling stability and low noise levels for heavier vehicles such as SUVs.
Yokohama Rubber said the tyre was developed using its proprietary HAICoLab framework, an AI-based development system that combines human design input with large-scale data processing to support digital innovation in product development.
The Advan V61 is already supplied as original equipment for several premium SUV models and is also available in a wide range of sizes for the replacement market, the company said.
The latest supply agreement aligns with Yokohama Rubber‘s medium-term management plan, Yokohama Transformation 2026, which runs from 2024 to 2026. Under the plan, the company aims to increase the share of high-value-added products in its consumer tyre business, with a focus on expanding original equipment fitments for its Advan and Geolandar brands on new vehicles.
Yokohama Rubber said original equipment supply for global SUV models remains a key strategy as automakers continue to expand hybrid and electrified line-ups.
Toyota Motor has positioned the new RAV4 as a core model in its global SUV portfolio, with hybrid variants playing an increasingly important role in its electrification strategy.
