Engineered for extreme mining heat, Triangle Tyre’s new EnsureX technology extends OTR tyre life by 15% and increases adhesion strength by 40%.
Triangle Tyre’s New EnsureX Technology Reduces Delamination by 95%
Triangle Tyre has announced a significant technical breakthrough with the launch of its EnsureX Efficient Technology, a new-generation bonding and protection solution designed to eliminate adhesion failure in giant off-the-road (OTR) tyres.
The first batch of products featuring the EnsureX Efficient Technology has been shipped from Triangle Tyre‘s plant in Huangsheng, China, to the Deo Nai Coal Mine in Vietnam. This delivery, departing via Qingdao Port, marked the commercial debut of a solution specifically engineered to withstand the extreme humidity and heat of Southeast Asian mining operations.
Giant OTR tyres are essential components for mining dump trucks and large wheel loaders, where reliability is critical to operational safety. In the lignite mines of Vietnam, where temperatures reach 40°C and humidity exceeds 80 per cent, conventional tyres frequently suffer from delamination and premature ageing, leading to abnormal scrapping rates of up to 20 per cent.
Triangle Tyre said that its research and development (R&D) team spent three years developing the EnsureX technology. It is engineered specifically to address the chemical breakdown between rubber polymers and steel cords. The manufacturer claimed that the technology can reduce delamination failures by more than 95 per cent and extend the overall service life of the tyre by over 15 per cent.
The EnsureX Efficient Technology utilises an ultra-high-performance cobalt-free formulation and a coordinated multi-alloy steel-cord adhesion system. By removing cobalt and using gradient adhesion-layer distribution, Triangle Tyre has achieved three improvements regarding fatigue resistance, ageing, and corrosion.
The new bonding structure increases adhesion strength by more than 40 per cent, allowing the tyre to better accommodate the high-frequency deformation caused by heavy loads. Additionally, Triangle Tyre also claimed that the corrosion resistance of the EnsureX system is three times higher than that of conventional adhesion methods, which enhances the retreadability of the casing.
The manufacturer confirmed that its 49-inch and 57-inch tyre series have already passed rigorous testing at mine sites. The proprietary bonding system acts as a mechanical anchor, locking the steel cord “skeleton” of the rubber “muscle” to prevent the root causes of internal structure failures.
Triangle Tyre positions this technological advancement as a revolution in OTR manufacturing. “It further consolidates Triangle Tyre’s leading position in high-end tyre technologies and injects new momentum into the independent innovation and high-quality development of domestically produced giant OTR tyres,” the company said.
