Nexen Tire‘s N’FERA Sport earns BMW OE approval for the new iX3, further expanding the brand’s global original equipment tyre portfolio.
Nexen Adds BMW iX3 OE Approval to Growing Global Automaker Partnership List
Nexen Tire has secured original equipment approval from BMW for its N’FERA Sport tyre, which has been selected to fit the new BMW iX3.
The N’FERA Sport features a wider longitudinal groove for improved wet weather drainage, a block design for enhanced dry and wet handling at high speeds, and an updated tread compound to improve grip and braking performance. Sidewall reinforcements are designed to maximise stability during high-speed cornering.
The approval adds to a growing list of original equipment partnerships for the South Korean manufacturer, which first entered the OE market with global automakers in 2012 and now supplies tyres to brands including the BMW Group.
Nexen Tire attributed the success to sustained investment in research and development, noting that recently it became the first company in Korea’s tyre industry to adopt a high dynamic driving simulator for the development of next-generation virtual tyres.
The company has also introduced an AI-based automated inspection system to enhance precision in quality control, and stated that it plans to continue integrating AI and virtual reality technologies across its product development and production processes.
