How Jazz Tyre Became Penang’s First Hankook Authorised Dealer
Founded in 2004 by Lee Long Cheang, Jazz Tyre has developed over 21 years from a small operation into an established tyre retailer with five branches across Malaysia. The company currently operates four outlets in Penang and one in Shah Alam. The name “Jazz Tyre” reflects Lee’s personal preference for the word “Jazz”, which he considers simple, pleasant-sounding and easy to remember.
A significant milestone in the company’s development came in 2008, when Jazz Tyre became the first authorised dealer for Hankook Tire in Penang. It has retained this position since then. At the time, the brand was relatively unfamiliar in the local market and required detailed explanation to custom ers. Over the years, however, Hankook has gained wider recognition and is now regarded as a household name requiring little introduction.
