Giti Tire launches the GitiSportS2+ summer tyre with an “exemplary” AutoBild rating, offering top-tier wet grip and safety for 2026.

Giti Tire Challenges Premium Brands with New Exemplary Rated UHP Tyre

Giti Tire has launched its next-generation ultra-high-performance (UHP) tyre, the GitiSport S2+, following an “Exemplary” rating in the AutoBild 2026 Summer Tyre Test. Ranked fourth overall, the tyre was praised for its price-performance ratio, superb driving performance, and high safety reserves.

The AutoBild test was conducted on a BMW 5 Series. In the qualifying round, in which 50 tyres competed, the Giti GitiSport S2+ in size 245/45R19 finished in fourth place, thanks to its strong braking performance in wet conditions from 80 km/h and dry conditions from 100 km/h with a total distance of 42.5 metres.

In the final round involving the 20 best tyres, the GitiSport S2+ continued to perform admirably across 12 test categories and finished in the top five among premium manufacturers.

“The new GitiSportS2+ is testimony of the achievements that our engineers, testers, and manufacturing facilities have been able to deliver in the area of performance while retaining the sustainability, endurance, and mileage criteria that are important to the daily driver,” said Fabio Pecci-Boriani, Deputy General Manager for Product Planning PCR and LTR at Giti Tire R&D Centre (Europe).

“To launch a tyre off the back of an ‘exemplary’ rating in AutoBild is nothing short of sensational. We are thrilled that one of the leading automobile titles in Europe has been able to validate and confirm our latest development, and we are excited to share this news with our trusted customers,” he added.

The GitiSport S2+ will be available from Spring 2026 in 19 sizes, from 17 to 20 inches, and is aimed at sporty cars and SUVs. It incorporates a new, specially designed compound that reduces braking distance on wet roads by 8 per cent and 2 per cent on dry roads compared to the predecessor, the GitiSport S2. The tyre achieves an EU Wet Grip label rating of A.

Giti Tire has designed the GitiSport S2+ to be suitable for all vehicles, regardless of powertrain, signified by the AdvanZtech EV Ready logo on the sidewall. The tyre was developed using the AdvanZtech technology at Giti Tire‘s European R&D Centre in Hanover, Germany, and has been tested on European tracks in the U.K. and Spain.

“The target criteria for the GitiSportS2+ was to deliver further improvements in dynamic driving, enhanced control on wet roads with precise and exciting control on dry roads, all while maintaining the mileage and energy efficiency of the previous generation,” Pecci explained.
