Apollo Tyres scores 84 on EcoVadis in FY26 and receives SBTi validation confirming its near-term and net-zero emissions targets.
Apollo Tyres Sets Ambitious Science-Based Targets for 2050 Net-Zero Goal
Apollo Tyres has announced two sustainability milestones: an improved EcoVadis Gold Rating and a validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its near-term and net-zero emissions reduction targets. The announcement was made on April 8, 2026.
Apollo Tyres‘ overall EcoVadis performance score improved to the 98th percentile in 2026, with the numerical score rising from 76 in 2025 to 84 in 2026. The improved rating reflects advances across environmental stewardship, ethical governance, human rights practices, and responsible sourcing across its global operations.
On the SBTi front, Apollo Tyres has received a validation statement confirming that its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets are aligned with climate science and global efforts to limit climate change. The validated targets span near-term, long-term, and net-zero commitments.
For the near-term, the Indian company commits to reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 58.8 per cent by 2035 from a 2025 base year, and absolute scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services, upstream transportation and distribution, upstream leased assets, and downstream transportation and distribution by 37.5 per cent within the same timeframe.
The long-term target sets a 90.0 per cent reduction in absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2050 from the same base year, with scope 3 emissions, covering purchased goods and services, upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, business travel, employee commuting, upstream leased assets, downstream transportation and distribution, and end-of-life treatment of sold products, also targeted at a 90.0 per cent reduction by FY2050.
Meanwhile, Apollo Tyres‘ net-zero commitment is to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by FY2050.
“These recognitions reflect our unwavering commitment to responsible growth and our determination to align with global climate goals. We remain focused on driving meaningful impact across our operations and value chain, while collaborating with our partners and stakeholders to build a more sustainable and resilient future,” said Rajeev Kumar Sinha, Chief Manufacturing and Sustainability Officer at Apollo Tyres.
