Official: BKT Enters Consumer Tyre Market, Launches BKT Tyres Brand

BKT Launch Event

BKT announced its entry to the consumer tyre market by launching two motorcycle tyres and unveiling two commercial vehicle tyres.

Expansion Aligns with BKT’s Vision 2030

Balkrishna Industries Limited (BKT) announced on February 24, 2026, that it has officially entered the Indian consumer tyre market, marking a milestone in the company’s evolution from an industrial tyre specialist to a broader mobility brand.

As part of the expansion, BKT introduced a new two-wheeler portfolio for India, the Zenova, for city on-road usage, and the Thyros, for both on-road and off-road applications. The company also unveiled BKT Tyres as the dedicated product brand for its consumer tyres, with “Elevate Your Drive” as the slogan.

BKT stated that the move represents the next chapter of its Vision 2030, aiming to scale responsibly by extending its engineering standards to everyday mobility.

BKT’s consumer foray is a natural extension of a trusted global legacy built on performance and engineering discipline. As a home-grown brand delivering global excellence, we believe Indian consumers deserve products built to international benchmarks. This step strengthens our commitment to India’s evolving mobility ecosystem,” said Arvind Poddar, Chairman & Managing Director of BKT.

The Zenova is engineered for daily use and provides comfort, stability, and smooth handling. Meanwhile, the versatile Thyros offers confidence and control across mixed terrain conditions. The two lines, according to BKT, “address the full spectrum of daily Indian riding environments.”

The Zenova and the Thyros, both BIS-certified, are manufactured in India and developed under IATF 16949-certified processes. Before the unveiling, both tyres have undergone rigorous testing encompassing design verification testing, accelerated durability trials, and vehicle-level testing at the National Automotive Test Track (NATRAX). The tests covered wet and dry breaking, as well as handling performance.

“By bringing industrial-grade validation standards into the two-wheeler category, BKT transfers the engineering discipline that built its global OHT leadership into the consumer space,” the company said.

Commercial Vehicle Radials (CVR)

Building on its entry into the consumer market, BKT also plans to expand into the commercial on-road segment with the introduction of m.Loadxpert (11.00R20) and Milexpert RG (295/90R20). Both tyres are scheduled for launch by June 2026.

Developed for heavy-duty applications, such as cement transportation, construction logistics, and regional cargo movement, the m.Loadxpert and the Milexpert RG offer stability, casing strength, longer service life, and retreadability.

BKT said that the tyres have been validated through 138 in-process quality checks, more than 20 design verification tests, and testing in NABL-accredited laboratories, all in full compliance with BIS requirements.

Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director of BKT, stated, “Our entry into consumer tyres is a strategic step under Vision 2030 to scale responsibly and expand BKT’s mobility footprint in India. Our ambition is clear: to build scale responsibly while protecting profitability and performance standards.”

“With a defined revenue roadmap toward ₹23,000 crore (around £1.9 million) by 2030, supported by disciplined investment and integrated manufacturing, we are not simply entering new categories; we are extending the BKT growth philosophy into segments that touch everyday mobility. This is measured growth, backed by capability, clarity, and long-term commitment,” he added.

Further Investment

BKT has committed ₹3,500 crore (around £285,000) to support manufacturing capacity expansion, R&D capabilities, vertical integration through BKT Carbon, and nationwide distribution strengthening.

The new portfolio will be rolled out through BKT‘s distributor-dealer across the country, beginning with areas with the highest demand. Gradually, BKT will also introduce a dedicated customer care service through its digital portal.

Satish Sharma, Senior President and Director of Business Development and Strategy at BKT, explained, “With BKT Tyres, consumers will experience the same engineering discipline that built our global OHT leadership. Our expansion into consumer tyres is aligned with the strong growth trajectory of India’s mobility market.”

“Rising vehicle ownership and expanding infrastructure create sustained demand for reliable and high-quality products. We are entering this space with a clear focus on delivering fit-for-purpose solutions across the two-wheeler and commercial vehicle segments, building long-term consumer trust through product relevance and distribution depth. Our goal is simple: establish BKT Tyres as a trusted mobility brand for India,” he added.

Aligned with Vision 2030, this expansion reinforces BKT’s long-term commitment to sustainable growth and value creation.
