Continental launches the ContiSportAttack 5 sport tyre for 2026, combining track-ready grip with on-road performance and stability.
Continental ContiSportAttack5 Aimed for High-Performance Riders
Continental has introduced its latest generation of sport bike tyre, the ContiAttackSport 5. Developed on the racetrack, the tyre delivers strong grip, agility, precise steering response, and “ultra-fast” warm-up times.
Designed to be sportier than its predecessor (the ContiSportAttack 4), the ContiSportAttack 5 is an 80/20 tyre. While primarily developed for street use, the tyre can also deliver a strong performance on the racetrack, making it suitable for both everyday riding and occasional track-day sessions.
“The ContiSportAttack 5 represents years of intensive development across a wide variety of roads and racetracks around the world. Our goal was to achieve improvements in all key performance areas without compromise,” explained Rafael Kascha, Motorcycle Tyre Product Developer at Continental.
The tyre is made using a new BlackChili compound formula, ensuring improved adhesion to the asphalt and optimised wear patterns, especially during track sessions. The MultiZoneBelt technology is used to craft the steel belt layout, offering maximum control.
Tighter belt winging in the centre enhances straight-line stability, while wider spacing at the shoulders increases contact area when leaning into corners. The gradual transition between these zones allows for smooth cornering behaviour.
Sharper steering response from this tyre comes from a new carcass construction that provides different stiffness across different zones. Faster warm-up is made possible by the optimised tread zones that adapt to various riding conditions to reach optimal temperature quickly. Lastly, Continental‘s TractionSkin surface technology offers safe and consistent performance.
The ContiSportAttack 5 is the perfect choice for modern supersport motorcycles such as the BMW S 1000 RR and Yamaha YZF-R9, as well as for high-performance naked bikes like the BMW S 1000 R, Kawasaki Z900, and KTM 1390 SUPER DUKE R EVO. Engineered for speeds of up to 320 km/h, depending on size, the tyre is fully road-legal while also providing “outstanding” performance during track sessions.
“Our target group is the high-performance rider, technically skilled and confident in their abilities. For them, everything revolves around high-level sport riding, and that’s exactly what the ContiSportAttack 5 delivers,” said Christoph Ettenhuber, Head of Continental’s Motorcycle Tire Business Unit.
“We’ve developed a tyre that can handle both Sunday rides through mountain passes and closed-circuit training sessions without compromising performance,” added Kascha.
The Continental ContiSportAttack 5 will be available from Q1 2026 and offered in the following sizes:
