General Tire Products to Be Sold in Physical and Online Stores
Continental Tyre Malaysia announced on October 1, 2025, the official launch of its General Tire brand for the Malaysian replacement tyre market. The products available in Malaysia are designed to meet the needs of Asian drivers across passenger cars, SUVs, MPVs, and 4×4 pickups.
General Tire has over 100 years of history and became a part of Continental in 1987 as a sub-brand. Nowadays, General Tire combines its legacy of “toughness and reliability” with Continental‘s advanced German technology.
For the first phase of entering the Malaysian market, General Tire offers two product ranges: the Altimax and the Grabber. The Altimax has two lines, the Altimax GC5 and the Altimax GS6, and so does the Grabber with the Grabber AT6 and the Grabber HT6.
The Altimax GC5 is available in sizes 14” to 15”, offering low noise, a comfortable drive, and fuel efficiency. The Altimax GS6, on the other hand, which provides quiet drive, strong grip, shorter braking distances, and longer tread life, is available in sizes 15″ to 19″.
The Grabber AT6, which is an off-road tyre, offers “robust” off-road handling and low noise in sizes 16″ to 18″. Lastly, the Grabber HT6, also an off-road tyre, delivers “excellent” wet braking, comfort, and longevity in sizes 16″ to 20″.
These models cater to a wide spectrum of vehicles, from everyday passenger cars to lifestyle SUVs and off-road 4×4 pickups, as General Tire aims to provide customers with dependable tyres that ensure excellent performance, ruggedness, and value for money.
“The launch of General Tire in Malaysia marks a significant step in offering customers the right combination of durability, performance, and style with everyday value. We are excited to bring this brand, supported by Continental’s German expertise, to drivers who are seeking performance and safety on every journey,” said Andrea Somorova, Managing Director of Continental Tyre Malaysia.
Looking ahead, General Tire aims to expand its presence nationwide, backed by comprehensive marketing and integrated support through Continental’s digital platforms and dealer networks. The tyres will be available through authorised Continental dealers nationwide, as well as via Continental Official Stores on Shopee, TNG eWallet, and Lazada.
