Continental will supply the SportContact 7 and EcoContact 6 Q as original equipment for the new Audi A6, offering a balance of sportiness and efficiency.
Audi Recommends Continental WinterContact TS 870 P for Winter Driving
Continental has announced that it will supply original equipment (OE) tyres for the new Audi A6, with the German carmaker approving two options for the model: the high-performance SportContact 7 and the efficiency-focused EcoContact 6 Q.
The SportContact 7 is engineered to deliver sporty and precise handling. The tyre features a rubber compound and tread pattern optimised for strong grip and short braking distances on dry and wet surfaces, which ensures stability and reliability even at high speeds. The SportContact 7 has proven its capabilities during the 2025 ADAC summer tyre test, where the model in size 255/40 R18 came out on top with a “good” rating.
In contrast, the EcoContact 6 Q is designed for drivers who prioritise efficiency, durability, and comfort. Continental has utilised a special rubber compound and an optimised tread pattern to keep rolling resistance and road noise at a minimum. The tyre not only offers lower energy consumption and extended driving range but also enhances comfort without sacrificing safety.
For winter driving, Audi officially recommends Continental‘s WinterContact TS 870 P, which utilises a newly developed tread design and sipes to provide reliable grip on snow and ice. Its compound remains flexible at low temperatures, enabling short braking distances and safe handling.
The approved fitments for the new Audi A6 are as follows: the EcoContact 6 Q Silent in 255/40 R20 101Y XL and 255/35 R21 101Y HL; the SportContact 7 Silent in 255/40 R20 101Y XL and 255/35 R21 101Y HL; and the WinterContact TS 870 P in 245/45 R19 102W and 255/40 R20 101W.
