Dunlop’s Blue Response TG Summer Tyre Targets Safety, Comfort, and Efficiency

Dunlop has officially unveiled its all-new summer tyre, the Blue Response TG, to the public at a driving event in Seville, Spain. The tyre, which “represents the next level of safety”, is the first Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI)-developed product marketed under the Dunlop brand since the acquisition of its trademark last year.

The event was held last weekend at the Circuito de Sevilla. With a length of 4.2 kilometres, 16 corners, and an 822-metre straight, Dunlop said the circuit offered the ideal environment for testing the performance of the tyre, whose motto is “the art of perfect balance”.

The driving event was attended by 120 customers, journalists, and influencers, where they experienced a full demonstration of the Blue Response TG‘s performance across different scenarios, which include slalom driving on dry and wet track, obstacle avoidance exercises to test braking manoeuvres, cornering to test handling performance, a comfort and noise test focusing on noise reduction, and an efficiency test that demonstrated reduced rolling resistance and low fuel consumption. After the tests, the programme was rounded off by guided tours on public roads and laps on the race track.

The test fleet comprised a broad range of modern vehicles, including the Audi e-tron, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz EQE, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Toyota GR Yaris, and Nissan GT-R R35, underscoring the tyre’s versatility, from premium electric vehicles to high-performance sports cars.

Dunlop said the Blue Respons TG was developed for modern vehicles, just like the ones used in the driving event. The combination of an optimised tread design, a new rubber compound, and a reinforced structure enables the tyre to provide precise handling, short braking distances, strong wet grip, and low rolling resistance, making it ideal for motorists who value safety, comfort, and sporting capability in everyday use and more demanding situations.

“This is our first Dunlop event since the acquisition, which is precisely why the launch of our summer tyre is so important to us. Direct interaction with customers and the media here on site is crucial for us, as it is the only way we can hear their perspectives and continue to develop in a targeted manner,” explains Markus Bögner, president and managing director of Dunlop Tyre Europe.
