The 2023 season will be Falken’s thirteenth as a Porsche partner team.
Falken will return to the Nürburgring with two new Porsche 911 GT3 R (992)
The new 911 GT3 R (992) replaces the Porsche 911 GT3 R (991.2) with which Falken has been racing since 2018. In its time with the 991.2, Falken has scored numerous victories and podium finishes on the demanding Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, including two famous wins in the 2022 season in the prestigious NLS 6-hour and 12-hour endurance races.
Falken’s relationship with the German brand began in 2011 and has been very fruitful. In addition to achieving good results in the NLS (formerly VLN), Falken and Porsche have together achieved several top-10 finishes at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, including fourth place overall in the 2021 edition.
Although Falken has yet to take delivery of its two new 911 GT3 R (992), it already has experience with the new car. In October, the tyre manufacturer was selected to become the first Porsche partner team in the world to race the car in NLS 8.
“We are excited to return to the Nordschleife in 2023 as a Porsche partner team and compete with the brand new 911 GT3 R,” said Stefanie Olbertz, Motorsport Manager at Falken Tyre. “The new model is a breakthrough in performance and design and we can’t wait to get out on track and fight for victory in both the NLS season and the Nürburgring 24 Hours.”
Falken Motorsports’ plans for the 2023 season will be announced shortly.
