The Goodyear Eagle Xplore features SightLine technology and real-time tyre data display on the Citroën ELO concept car.
Goodyear Eagle Xplore: Innovation Meets Style
Goodyear has teamed up with Citroën on the launch of the ELO concept car, developing a bespoke concept tyre designed to showcase advances in connectivity, design, and intelligent vehicle systems.
As part of the collaboration, Goodyear created the Eagle Xplore, a concept tyre tailored specifically for the ELO, which Citroën has positioned as a rolling laboratory for ideas shaping its future design and technology. The tyre features a distinctive orange sidewall pigment that mirrors the concept car’s signature colour.
Goodyear said the Eagle Xplore integrates its SightLine intelligence technology, enabling the tyre to communicate directly with the vehicle. For the first time, the SightLine technology displays real-time tyre pressure on the wheel rim through an LED sidebar, with green indicating optimal pressure and red signalling that adjustment is required.
The tyre also transmits real-time data on pressure and load to the vehicle’s cockpit and the ELO mobile application, allowing drivers to monitor tyre condition continuously. Goodyear said the system’s predictive capabilities are designed to support vehicle stability in challenging conditions and help extend tyre life by maintaining ideal operating pressure.
Inspired by Goodyear‘s Eagle performance range and drawing design cues from its Wrangler line, the Eagle Xplore combines a rugged tread pattern with premium styling, reflecting the ELO’s focus on exploration and versatility.
“Goodyear Eagle Xplore is where innovation meets style,” said Ben Glesener, senior technology director for product development in consumer EMEA at Goodyear. “By combining distinctive design, intelligent innovation, and seamless connectivity, Goodyear is redefining the future of mobility with tailored solutions that transform every journey into an extraordinary experience.”
The partnership between Goodyear and Citroën highlights growing collaboration between vehicle manufacturers and suppliers as digital technologies increasingly extend to components such as tyres, turning them into connected systems within the broader vehicle ecosystem.
