GT Radial Launches SportActive2 evo and FE2 evo With Enhanced Compound Technology

GT Radial - SportActive 2 evo & FE2 evo

GT Radial’s new SportActive2 evo and FE2 evo tyres bring enhanced grip on wet and dry surfaces, lower noise, and better mileage.

GT Radial’s SportActive2 evo Earns AutoBild 2026 Good Rating

GT Radial has introduced two new tyres to its European line-up, the SportActive2 evo and FE2 evo, both featuring a new so-called evo compound that delivers improvements in wet and dry performance.

The SportActive 2 evo is currently available in 19 sizes, covering rim diameters from 17 to 20 inches, section widths from 225 to 255, and series sizes from 35 to 55, with more sizes expected to follow. Built on the SportActive2 platform, the evo variant provides an improvement in wet and dry braking and handling by 2 to 9 per cent. A special sidewall contour sharpens driving precision and a computer-optimised groove design accelerates water evacuation in wet conditions.

The improvements have resulted in the “good” rating in the AutoBild 2026 Summer Tyre Test, where the SportActive2 evo ranked eight overall. The German magazine described the tyre as a “price breaker with low costs per kilometre, safe in wet and dry conditions, and consistently competitive”. It is also one of only three tyres to receive top marks in the cornering aquaplaning category alongside products from two premium manufacturers, further highlighting its excellent wet performance.

“This is the second time in the last three years that the SportActive 2 has received a ‘good’ rating from AutoBild, and this year the new evo model sits comfortably among several premium manufacturers’ latest tyres. It was also the quietest on test, hugely important for EV vehicles,” said Fabio Pecci-Boriani, Deputy General Manager for Product Planning PCR and LTR at Giti Tire R&D Centre (Europe).

Meanwhile, the FE2 evo, positioned as an all-rounder for everyday driving, was introduced in 42 sizes, with rims from 15 to 18 inches, section widths from 165 to 235, and series sizes from 50 to 70. Alongside the improved dry and wet performance shared with the SportActive2 evo, the FE2 evo also delivers a 4 per cent increase in mileage potential, thanks to the new compound. The use of new specially-designed polymers makes the tyre more wear-resistant, while an optimised pitch sequence reduces noise level.

GT Radial said that both evo models are designed and engineered at Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany. Some sizes from both ranges also feature GT Radial‘s EV Ready logo on the sidewall, indicating their suitability to equip electric vehicles.
