Guizhou Tyre Launches PCR Tyre Production at Vietnam Phase III Plant

Guizhou Tyre starts PCR production in Vietnam

Advanced robotics and digital systems power the new Guizhou Tyre PCR line in Vietnam, supporting 2030 and 2055 carbon reduction targets.

Guizhou Tyre Adds Six Million PCR Tyres to Annual Capacity

Guizhou Tyre has officially started production of passenger car radial (PCR) tyres at its Phase III manufacturing facility in Vietnam, marking a significant expansion of the Chinese tyre maker’s portfolio beyond its established base in commercial and speciality tyres.

The launch, held under the theme “New Starting Point, New Journey”, introduced an annual capacity of six million semi-steel radial tyres at the Vietnam plant. The addition of PCR to its line-up of truck and bus radial, off-the-road, agricultural, and industrial tyres completed what the company described as a “comprehensive, all-category portfolio”.

The Vietnam facility also holds the distinction of being the tyre industry’s first “Lighthouse Factory”, a designation recognising advanced smart manufacturing capabilities. Partners attending the launch were taken through the plant to observe robotic production lines, AGV automated guided vehicles, and an end-to-end digital management system covering PCR and TBR production.

Chairman Huang Gege framed the Phase III launch as a cornerstone of Guizhou Tyre‘s Product Diversification and Market Globalization strategy, with the Vietnam base serving as a regional hub for Southeast Asia and a gateway into European and North American markets, working in tandem with the company’s production facilities in China.

The event also included an awards ceremony recognising long-standing global partners, as well as early adopters of the new PCR line, with representatives from markets including Thailand and North America in attendance.

Looking ahead, Guizhou Tyre confirmed its commitment to carbon reduction targets set for 2030 and 2055. The company also indicated that a second overseas production base is under development in Morocco as part of its broader green manufacturing approach.
