Hankook Indonesia Has Donated Qurban Animals for 14 Consecutive Years

Korean tyre manufacturer Hankook, through its Indonesian subsidiary PT Hankook Tire Indonesia, celebrated Eid al-Adha 2025 by donating qurban (sacrificial) animals to residents of Cicau Village in Bekasi, West Java.

According to the company’s official release, Hankook Tire Indonesia has donated qurban animals for 14 consecutive years as part of its ongoing commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles.

This year’s donation included eight cows and six lambs, which were handed over on June 3, 2025, to Maman M. Fahlevi, Chief of Cicau Village, and to the Ministry of Trade Mosque, represented by the Al-Arief Mosque Committee.

“We have consistently supported all aspects of community empowerment around our factory area, including social and religious programs, since 2011,” said Jin Kyung Jung, President Director of PT Hankook Tire Indonesia. “This year, we are once again donating qurban animals, purchased from local farmers, to be distributed to residents near the Hankook factory.”

Village Chief Maman expressed his appreciation, noting that the donation would help meet local food needs and allow more families to celebrate Eid al-Adha together.

Over more than a decade of operations in Indonesia, Hankook has carried out a range of social responsibility initiatives, with a growing number of beneficiaries and a wider range of support services each year.

In addition to direct aid, the company also runs long-term community programs such as skills training, infrastructure development, healthcare services, and other empowerment projects. These consistent efforts have earned Hankook a place on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices World (DJSI World) since 2016.

“This consistency reflects our commitment to inclusive and sustainable social development,” the company stated. “Looking ahead, Hankook Tire remains committed to empowering local communities through impactful and relevant support.”
