Hankook introduces the iON HT tyre for electric light trucks and SUVs. All-season traction, 80,000-mile tread life, and extended EV range. Available August 2025.
The Hankook iON HT Available in August 2025
Hankook Tire has unveiled the newest member of its iON roster, the iON HT. Tailored specifically for electric light-duty trucks, the tyre provides all-season versatility, lower rolling resistance, ride comfort, and enhanced durability.
With an “XL” load designation, the Hankook iON HT is designed to provide strength and rigidity to accommodate heavier cargo with regular light-truck usage, as well as the extra weight of electric platforms. It is also built with low energy loss technology to extend driving range.
“Electric vehicles, especially in the emerging light-duty truck and full-size SUV categories, bring new challenges and place unique demands on their tyres,” said Rob Williams, President of Hankook Tire America Corp.
“The iON HT is built from the ground up to deliver exceptional EV performance and perfectly embodies the kind of innovation our iON line has come to represent for the industry,” he added.
Key features in the Hankook iON HT include Roll Lite Compound, Opti Cure Technology, ProDurable Compound, New 3D-Embossed Sipe, flared shoulder grooves, “aggressive” shoulder block design, and iON Clad.
Roll Lite Compound and Opti Cure Technology reduce internal friction and optimize curing temperature, contributing to lower rolling resistance and improved battery efficiency. ProDurable Compound and Opti Tread Technology improve wear resistance by dispersing road pressure evenly, resulting in a tread life of up to 80,000 miles.
New 3D-Embossed Sipe and flared shoulder grooves provide reliable grip and water evacuation for enhanced all-season traction, especially in wet conditions. Meanwhile, the “aggressive” shoulder block design and iON Clad construction protect against external impact without sacrificing ride comfort.
The iON HT was first showcased by Hankook during the 2025 Electrify Expo held at the Port of Los Angeles on June 21–22, 2025. Joining the Hankook‘s iON lineup of all-season, summer, and winter EV tyres, the iON HT will be available in August in five initial sizes (18 to 22 inches). It has the UTGQ ratings of 900/A/A and speed ratings of T or H.
