Hankook‘s value-focused tyre brand Laufenn has secured its first major original equipment (OE) appointment in Europe, with the S Fit 2 summer tyre selected to be factory-fitted on the new Škoda Octavia in the 205/55 R17 91 V size.
Laufenn S Fit 2 Chosen for Škoda Octavia
The Octavia is Škoda’s highest-volume model and one of the most popular compact cars in Europe, making the appointment a significant milestone for Laufenn, a brand that has spent the past decade building its reputation largely in the replacement market. Hankook describes the partnership as a foundation for Laufenn‘s future OE projects and a marker of how far the brand has grown since its launch ten years ago.
The S Fit 2 was developed with cars like Octavia’s character in mind: A practical, spacious all-rounder. The tyre was engineered to be a tyre that can do it all with no significant weaknesses across key metrics. However, it does not mean the tyre has no standout features. A high silica content and convex tread blocks work together to deliver a strong wet grip and short braking distances on wet surfaces. Additionally, reinforced shoulders and a precisely tuned compound ensure stable handling even at high speeds or with a full load.

Efficiency and longevity also feature prominently in the design. The S Fit 2 offers low rolling resistance to support fuel economy, while new polymer technology delivers higher wear resistance and extended tyre life, reducing lifecycle costs for owners over time. Rolling noise has been minimised to keep cabin refinement in line with the Octavia’s comfort-oriented positioning.
Hankook said the Laufenn S Fit 2 has also been launched recently in the replacement market, ensuring the OE equipment and retail rollout run in parallel. The South Korean tyre maker expects this combination will help raise the tyre’s profile among European consumers and workshops alike.
