Apollo Tyres’ expansion of Manchester United Legends’ activity in the Asean Region forms the basis of the cover story of this month’s issue. Apollo has recently organised a Meet and Greet Session with Manchester United Legends Andy Cole and Bryan Robson in Thailand for its business partners and customers. This is followed with an article covering the recent launch and drive experience organised by Yokohama Tyre Sales Malaysia (YHIM). This was the first official event after the new joint venture company was formed between Yokohama and YHI International Limited, and provided an opportunity for YHIM to share its business updates and strategies with dealers and media friends.
The new digital version also features a number of product related updates. From the tyre side, we have Hankook’s introduction of its first family tyres for high performance electric vehicles called iON and Goodyear’s launch of the new Assurance ComfortTred tyre. In other segments, we cover Anyline’s introduction of an industry-first tyre tread scanner for smartphones that that allows both end-users and tyre technicians to accurately measure the depth of their tyre tread with the camera on their mobile or TPMS device, and Shell Malaysia’s unveiling of its first range of carbon neutral engine oils.
One of the tyre industry pioneers, Swee Hing Tyres, also celebrated its 50th anniversary recently, and we have a full report of the event.
Meanwhile, don’t miss out on our special retreading feature, where we interview local retreaders such as Mestread on their recent investment in solar power systems and machinery, and features on rubber compounders Eversafe and Maxrubber.
