JK Tyre has inaugurated Phase III expansion at its Banmore PCR tyre plant, lifting capacity to 30,000 tyres per day.

10.5 Million Tyres to Come Out Annually from the Banmore Plant

JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. (JK Tyre) has inaugurated Phase III of capacity expansion and modernisation at its passenger car radial (PCR) tyre manufacturing plant in Banmore, Madhya Pradesh, India.

The new manufacturing facility was inaugurated by Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India, in the presence of Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of JK Tyre, and Anshuman Singhania, Managing Director of the company, along with members of Maruti Suzuki’s leadership team.

With the commissioning of Phase III, the Banmore facility’s production capacity has increased to 30,000 PCR tyres per day, or equivalent to around 10.5 million tyres annually. The expansion forms part of JK Tyre‘s multi-phase investment programme at the Banmore plant, with cumulative investments exceeding ₹1,000 crore (£81.3 million).

“The inauguration of Phase III expansion by Mr Hisashi Takeuchi San at our Banmore plant reflects JK Tyre’s unwavering commitment to strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem and supporting the country’s mobility growth story. As passenger vehicle demand continues to rise, our focus remains on incessant capacity enhancement, modernisation, and technology-led innovation,” said Raghupati Singhania.

“Banmore has been a cornerstone of our passenger car radial journey, and this expansion further reinforces our ability to serve OEMs and consumers with high-quality, sustainable, and future-ready products, while contributing to industrial growth and employment generation in Madhya Pradesh,” he added.

JK Tyre said the Banmore plant continues to play an important role in regional industrial development, supporting both direct and indirect employment and contributing to local economic growth. It also aligns with the company’s environmental commitment by focusing on sustainability in its operations.

In addition, the Banmore plant has also been involved in various community development initiatives over the years, including programmes in healthcare, adult literacy, livelihood enhancement, rural development, and promotion of local sports, representing the company’s social commitment.
