Kumho Showed Improvements in Labour, Human Rights, and Ethics Categories

Kumho Tire has earned a Gold Medal from EcoVadis for the second consecutive year, placing it among the top 5 per cent of companies globally in the sustainable assessment.

EcoVadis evaluates companies on policies, actions, and certifications across four areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Kumho ranked among the top 5 per cent of approximately 150,000 companies worldwide in the 2024 assessment and recorded further improvements in the 2025 evaluation, notably in the labour and human rights and ethics categories. The gains reflected enhancements to the company’s ethical management framework and an expanded scope of ESG data management.

Separately, Kumho received an integrated “A” grade in the 2025 ESG rating from the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability, representing a one-grade improvement from the previous year. The upgrade was attributed to a series of enhancements, including the establishment of a human rights management system, the setting of employee diversity goals, increased investment in information security, and the performance of board performance evaluations.

Kumho Tire has also continued its participation in the Carbon Disclosure Project in 2025, an initiative it joined in 2022. Kumho earned an A- rating for its water resource management capabilities and was included on the highest A List in the Supplier Engagement Assessment, highlighting its efforts in climate change response and ESG management.

In the MSCI ESG assessment, Kumho has successfully maintained the AA rating that it first attained in 2022. The company was also selected as a Yearbook member in the Corporate Sustainability Assessment by S&P Global, ranking them within the top 15 per cent of the global auto components industry.

Lastly, at the Korean Sustainability Conference 2025, hosted by the Korean Standards Association under the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, Kumho ranked first in the tyre sector of the Korean Sustainability Index for the third consecutive year. The company was also recognised for its excellence in the manufacturing sector in the Korean Readers’ Choice Awards (KRCA) for the second consecutive year.

Il Taik-yung, President & CEO of Kumho Tire, said, “Kumho Tire systematically manages goals and tasks by major issues in alignment with its sustainability strategy. Through advancing and embedding ESG management, we will strengthen the foundation for sustainable growth and continue our efforts to become a global sustainability leader.”
