Sailun Announces Continuation of World Child Cancer Charity Sponsorship

Sailun World Child Cancer Charity

Sailun Tyre has announced their continuing support as Global Transportation Partner for World Child Cancer charity. With its core products at hand, Sailun is set to help children with cancer, and their families, in low-and middle-income countries to access treatment through assisting in their safe transportation from home to the hospital.

From Cancer To Cure

Sailun has targeted transportation as a key factor in the need for children and their families battling cancer. Covering the safe transportation for children with cancer helps to reduce several common problems of cancer treatment in low-and middle-income countries.

First, many families are unable to cover the costs of transportation to receive the treatment their child so desperately needs. Covering transport costs helps to ensure children are less likely to abandon their cancer treatment. Second, living in such rural locations can make follow up appointments difficult. Sailun will work to help facilitate nurse follow-ups to patients’ homes. Third, the number of trained healthcare workers working within these countries is limited. In order to improve the capabilities of local medical professionals, twinning visits from healthcare professionals in high-income will help with the facilitation of knowledge so doctors locally are equipped to help. Fourth, and last, is the continued sharing of knowledge in-country to improve the skills of healthcare professionals.

Sailun and World Child Cancer began working together back in 2015 with the help of Sailun’s EU Managing Director and has continued to this day, helping to support children with cancer in countries including GhanaBangladeshNepal and MexicoSailun will continue their support this year by providing another 50,000 Euro donation to the charity.

Simple and cost-effective interventions can be used to break down many of these challenges, and World Child Cancer helps to improve access to quality treatment and support for children with cancer and their families. Their vision is a world where every child with cancer has equal access to the best possible treatment and care. Their mission is to improve diagnosis, access to treatment and quality of support for children with cancer, and their families, in the low-and middle-income world.
