Apollo Tyres conducts Global Partners’ Summit 2021 focusing on the usage of recycled and renewable materials.

Sustainability in Uncertainty – the Challenges Ahead’ was the theme for Apollo Tyres Global Partners’ Summit 2021, which was held virtually with the global raw material business partners. An overwhelming response was received to this summit with over 700 participants joining from approximately 270 organisations, from across 30 different countries.

The Corporate Procurement Team at Apollo Tyres Ltd shared the ‘Apollo Sustainability Procurement Vision’, along with the plan for increased usage of recycled and renewable materials going forward. The Sustainability Panel comprising Global Chief Sustainability Officers and Stefano Savi, Director, Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR) discussed on the partnership and collaborative approach amongst stakeholders to practice circularity in the business.

Sharing the company’s vision of ‘Driving Progress, Together’ the Senior Management team of Apollo Tyres Ltd requested the raw material business partners to take a pledge to pursue the ‘Go Green’ agenda, ramp-up their capacities, de-risk their supply chains and to continue focusing on quality and delivery of their supplies.

As part of the summit, the Apollo Sustainability Awards 2021 were presented to Thai Eastern Group, Thailand, Oriental Carbon and Chemicals Ltd, India and Birla Carbon, India for being the front-runners on sustainability. M/s Pabitra Das from Assam, India walked away with the prestigious Apollo Emerging Partner Award 2021. Century Enka, India, JG Chemicals, India and PPG Industries, the Netherlands were awarded with the Apollo Gold Partner Awards 2021 for the categories of Supply Chain Excellence, Quality Champion and Service Excellence respectively.
