FIFA World Cup Sets New Records - Continental Was a

“We’re all world champions,” pro- claimed German national coach Joachim Löw at the welcome home party in front of 500,000 fans in Berlin. Roughly 36 hours earlier his team de- feated Argentina in the World Cup final in Rio de Janeiro with a 113th-minute goal from Mario Götze. This was Ger- many’s fourth World Cup triumph, fol- lowing successes in 1954, 1974 and 1990.
The FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil was a tournament of superlatives.
