Teoh Brothers See Strong Potential in Lassa Tyres
About four years ago, in part due to the potential, Shah Alam-based Teoh Brothers (Kemuning) Sdn Bhd saw for Lassa Tyres within Malaysia.
“We decided to change our signage because we saw good potential in Lassa even though it was quite a new brand at that time. In fact, we knew that Lassa has been in the tyre business industry since 1974, and has a suc- cessful track record elsewhere,” said Manag- ing Director Patrick Teoh.
Having said that, he admitted that what re- ally convinced him that he should invest in this brand is when PTS Marketing Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Lassa Tyres in Malay- sia told him more about the brand. “When we - turer of Lassa signed a joint venture agree- ment with Bridgestone Corporation in 1988, in the brand increased. Being the largest tyre manufacturer in the world, we believed that Bridgestone wouldn’t simply partner with a company without potential. Today, Lassa tyres are produced with Brisa’s latest tech- nology, as well as through research and de- velopment studies.”
Teoh revealed that he tested Lassa tyres on his own car before he introducing the brand to his customers. As the tyre is the only con- tact between the car and the road, Teoh ex- plained that he had to ensure that the tyres that he sells are safe, high in quality and per- form well.
“I have a friend who is a driving enthusiast and enjoys driving fast and driving well. He visited our tyre centre as his tyres were due for a change and we installed Lassa Drive- ways Sport high-performance tyres on his Audi A6. His testimonial has further boosted car accident that he had, which was made safer with the good grip of Lassa tyres on the wet surface. He was driving downhill in the rain at high speed when the car in front of him suddenly braked. He thought that he would hit the car in front of him, even as he applied the emergency brake. Although he managed to stop his car safely, the car behind him was unable to brake and hit him from the back. He praised the tyre’s safety performance at high speed and was impressed with its grip and
