In a recent announcement, the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) has unveiled the vehicle sales data for July 2023.
Passenger Car Production Increased 30.3 Per Cent
During the month, a total of 63,676 vehicles were delivered, marking a notable 1.7 per cent increase from the 62,593 units sold in June 2023. This monthly growth trend is further highlighted by a year on year comparison showing a substantial 27.5 per cent surge from the 49,934 deliveries recorded in July2022.
Passenger vehicle sales increased 30 per cent, reaching a total of 57,939 units. New car sales during the first seven months of 2023 rise by 12.6 per cent when compared to the corresponding period in 2022 to 429, 397 units.
The MAA attributes these encouraging results to improved supply chains and the fulfilment of bookings for newly launched models. Furthermore, the total industry volume (TIV) at the end of July 2023 stands at 429,807 units, a substantial 12.6 per cent increase from the corresponding period in 2022.
In terms of production, July 2023 witnessed the manufacturing of 66,862 vehicles, marking a significant 28 per cent year-on-year increase from July 2022. The year-to-date (YTD) production figure stands at an impressive 429,397 units, which was a 16 per cent surge compared to the same period in the previous year.
The passenger car production has increased 30.3 per cent from 48,002 units in July 2022 to 62,558 units.
