Based on figures released by Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA), the total number of vehicles sold in October 2022 was 61,002, 10 per cent lower than the 67,698 units sold in September. This, says MAA, was due to the fulfilment of bookings by car companies for many bookings received prior to 30th June, 2022.
The sales of passenger vehicles (PV) accounted for 54,498 units, and commercial vehicles (CV) were 6,504 units in October.

Meanwhile, the total production of vehicles for the first 10 months increased from 369,406 in 2021 to 567,752 vehicles in 2022.
MAA expects sales in November 2022 to be maintained at the October 2022 level. Shortages of chips and components continued to affect certain makes, but at a much smaller scale.
