Nexen Tire secures KIA approval to supply OE tyres for the new Seltos across 16, 18, and 19-inch specifications in the Korean market.
Nexen Tire Expands KIA OE Portfolio with Full Seltos Fitment
Nexen Tire has strengthened its presence within the SUV original equipment segment after winning approval from KIA to supply tyres for the Korean-market Seltos in all three wheel sizes available.
The new Seltos has a larger body compared to its predecessor and is offered with either a petrol or hybrid powertrain. Alongside the existing 16- and 18-inch wheel options, KIA has added a new 19-inch specification for the Korean market.
Nexen Tire said the 16- and 18-inch fitments use the N’PRIZ S, an all-season tyre designed to be compatible with electric, hybrid, and internal combustion vehicles. The tyre’s block design has been optimised to provide improved mileage, a quieter ride, and stronger snow performance compared to previous generations.
Meanwhile, the 19-inch wheels are fitted with the premium N’FERA AU7, engineered specifically for larger wheel sizes. The tyre features a reinforced structure and optimised tread pattern for stable high-speed handling, while the Noise Reduction System (NRS) absorbs resonance inside the tyre to reduce interior noise. The tyre maker said internal testing showed approximately 10 per cent less driving noise compared to those without NRS.
By supplying OE tyres to the Seltos, Nexen Tire has reinforced its position in the high-inch wheel segment, particularly for SUVs. Currently, the company also supplies tyres for the KGM Musso, Hyundai Palisade, Elexio electric SUV, KIA EV5, KIA Tasman pickup truck, and Škoda Karoq.
