Nexen Tire has begun supplying original equipment tyres for the KGM Musso pickup, supporting mixed on- and off-road use.
The N’Priz RH7 for Hi-End Mussos, the Roadian HTX RH5 for Entry-Level Variants
Nexen Tire has begun supplying original equipment (OE) tyres for the Musso pickup truck produced by KG Mobility (KGM).
In a statement released on January 19, 2025, Nexen Tire said it is supplying two tyre models for the Musso: the N’Priz RH7 and the Roadian HTX RH5. Both tyres have been developed to meet the mixed on-road and off-road demands for pickup trucks.
The KGM Musso is designed to handle heavy payloads and demanding driving conditions. Nexen said that the supplied tyres are engineered to maintain driving stability and structural rigidity under repeated stress and loads of up to 700 kg.
“For pickup trucks like the Musso, tyre performance is particularly important due to the payload requirements and diverse driving environments,” said John Bosco (Hyeon Suk) Kim, CEO of Nexen Tire.
The N’Priz RH7 is being supplied in 18-inch and 20-inch sizes for higher-specification variants of the Musso. It features four wide circumferential grooves to improve water evacuation in wet conditions and reduce the risk of aquaplaning. The tyre’s block pattern has also been optimised to improve stability while balancing noise levels and fuel efficiency. Previously, Nexen Tire has supplied the N’Priz RH7 for the Rexton Sports and Rexton Sports Khan.
The Roadian HTX RH5, supplied in the 17-inch size, on the other hand, is for the entry-level Mussos. This tyre is designed with everyday usage in mind, including long-distance driving and load carrying. The pattern is optimised to balance comfort and mileage, a widened shoulder and sidewall improve heat dissipation and durability, while the groove layout and three-dimensional structures are tailored for the Korean road and climate.
John Bosco Kim explained that supplying OE tyres for the Musso forms part of Nexen Tire‘s broader strategy to strengthen its position in the large SUV and pickup truck market.
“By developing OE tyres tailored to specific vehicle characteristics, we will continue to expand our collaborations with automakers in the multipurpose vehicle segment, which includes pickup trucks and SUVs,” he noted.
Aside from the KGM Musso, Nexen Tire currently supplies OE tyres for the Kia Tasman, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep Gladiator. The Korean company also offers dedicated SUV and pickup products, such as the Roadian HTX and Roadian ATX.
