The new P Zero Trofeo RS and P Zero R for the 911 GT3 offer enhanced grip, precision, and wet performance, developed through Pirelli’s Perfect Fit programme.
Both Bespoke Tyres Developed Using Pirelli’s Virtual-Design Tools
Pirelli has extended its P Zero line-up for Porsche’s 911 range with two bespoke tyres developed for the latest 911 GT3: the P Zero R and the P Zero Trofeo RS.
The Trofeo RS, derived from the version engineered for the 911 GT3 RS and widely regarded by international press as the leading semi-slick-road-legal tyre for track use, has been adapted for the newer model as part of a broader push to supply bespoke products for high-performance cars.
Pirelli describes the P Zero Trofeo RS as the top of its P Zero range. The tyre is engineered for maximum track performance while delivering consistent grip and precision during demanding sessions. Although highly specialised, bespoke Trofeo RS variants have also been engineered for other vehicles, including the all-electric Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, underscoring the tyre’s adaptability.
Meanwhile, the P Zero R is designed for drivers seeking a blend of road usability and sporting capability. The tyre’s compound, created exclusively for the 911 GT3, offers high grip across varying surfaces and, particularly, strong wet-weather performance.
The P Zero R operates over a wide temperature window, helping maintain top performance even in less-than-ideal conditions. Its construction differs between the front and rear axles to balance steering sensitivity and precision at the front with rigidity and stability at the rear.
The P Zero Trofeo RS and P Zero R form part of Pirelli‘s Perfect Fit programme, which focuses on creating model-specific products. The GT3 versions carry Porsche’s “N” marking on the sidewall, signifying the bespoke status. The tyres were developed using advanced virtual-design tools at Pirelli‘s R&D centres in Milan and Breuberg, reducing development time by 30 per cent.
