Sumitomo Rubber has named Yasuaki Kuniyasu as its next president and CEO, effective March 26, 2026, under a planned reshuffle.

Yasuaki Kuniyasu has been named as the next Representative Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. (Sumitomo Rubber) under a planned management reshuffle scheduled to take effect from March 26, 2026.
The company said on December 25, 2025, that the changes were approved by its board and will be subject to approval at its annual general meeting of shareholders and a subsequent board meeting to be held on the same day.
Kuniyasu, 56, currently serves as a director and senior executive officer. He joined the company in 1992 and has held senior roles across tyre technology, quality assurance, and corporate management planning, according to the company’s disclosure.
Meanwhile, Satoru Yamamoto, who currently holds the position of Representative Director, President, and CEO of Sumitomo Rubber, will move into the role of Representative Director and Chairperson of the Board of Directors.
The company said changes are being made in connection with the establishment of a new management structure to take effect on or after March 26, 2026.
