Toyo Tyre Sales and Marketing Malaysia Sdn Bhd (TSM) has issued a public statement regarding the unofficial import of a quantity of Toyo Comfort MC1 tyres that have been imported and distributed within Malaysia by unknown parties.
Investigation into Source of Import Underway
TSM, which is the exclusive distributor of Toyo branded tyres in Malaysia, has pointed out that these tyres are not part of the products distributed by TSM, and that TSM therefore disclaims all responsibility and liability for any issues arising from or connected to the purchase of these tyres.
“These tyres may not have undergone testing and/or may not carry the mark and/or certification as required under the relevant Malaysian regulations and standards,” said TSM in the statement. “Consequently, the Toyo Tyre 6-Years Limited Warranty, the Toyo Warranty Plus and any other warranty or after-sales support extended by TSM, do not apply to such products, that are not distributed through our authorized channels.”
TSM says it is currently conducting an investigation into the source and distribution of these unofficial import tyres and plans to take appropriate measures to address the issue.
