Vredestein Quatrac Tops Auto Bild Allrad All-Season Tyre Test

The Vredestein Quatrac tops Auto Bild Allrad test for all-season tyres.

The Vredestein Quatrac wins Auto Bild Allrad all-season test, combining safety, grip, and low noise for hybrid and EV compatibility.

Exemplary Vredestein Quatrac Balanced and Safe on Any Surface

The Vredestein Quatrac came first in an all-season tyres test conducted by Auto Bild Allrad and was given the “Exemplary” rating.

The test saw eleven all-season tyres in 215/55 R 17 size compete in snow, wet, and dry conditions, all fitted to a VW T-Roc. Dry and wet tests were conducted at the TRIWO Testcenter in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Meanwhile, the snow test was held at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds in New Zealand, simulating harsh European winter conditions.

The Vredestein Quatrac managed to impress the testers by excelling, particularly in braking in wet conditions, as well as grip and braking on a snowy surface. Auto Bild Allrad then described the Quatrac as an “all-round talent” that is “balanced and safe on any surface”. It also noted that the tyre’s all-season tread pattern “shows no weaknesses in aquaplaning”.

Noise reduction is another category where the Vredestein Quatrac excelled, emitting just 66.4 dB(A)at 50km/h and 70.4 dB(A) at 80km/h. The low noise underlines the Quatrac‘s suitability for electric vehicles, where the absence of engine noise makes tyre noise more noticeable.

“The Quatrac has shown once again that it is the leader in the all-season segment, thanks to superior dynamic capabilities and technical features that make for a safe and enjoyable drive, year-round,” Daniele Lorenzetti, Chief Technology Officer of Apollo Tyres, said.

“As a pioneer of the all-season category, we are continuing to invest in research and development to maintain our leadership position, and we are already looking ahead to the launch of a significant new Vredestein product in this space next year,” he added.

Last year, the Vredestein Quatrac also secured first place in Auto Bild‘s annual all-season tyres test, where it outperformed 14 competitors. At the time, the judges particularly noted the tyre’s short braking distances and “confident” handling on wet surfaces.

The Vredestein Quatrac products are available in more size options than any other rival in the all-season segment and include both standard and high-performance variants.

The core Quatrac line is complemented by the Quatrac Pro+ range, developed specifically for ultra-high and ultra-ultra-high performance vehicles. All Quatrac tyres are suitable for the latest generation of hybrid and all-electric cars.
