Yokohama Rubber is supplying an enhanced version of the Geolandar SUV tyre for the new Mitsubishi Delica D:5, improving fuel efficiency and comfort.
Yokohama Rubber Strengthens Mitsubishi Partnership with New Delica D:5 Fitment
Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. (Yokohama Rubber) has begun supplying its Geolandar SUV tyres as original equipment for the new Mitsubishi Delica D:5 minivan, which was launched for the Japanese market last month. The vehicle is being fitted with tyres in the 255/55R18 98H specification.
The Geolandar SUV is designed for small and mid-size SUVs, as well as minivans, and is tailored for on-road driving. According to Yokohama Rubber, the tyre delivers a balance of fuel efficiency, comfort, and safety while retaining the utility performance necessary for handling various road surfaces.
The selection marks a continuation of the supply relationship between Mitsubishi Motors and Yokohama Rubber, as the previous Delica model was also equipped with the Geolandar SUV tyres. However, the tyre maker noted that the Delica D:5 will be equipped with an enhanced version of the tyre that promises more fuel efficiency and noise reduction compared to its predecessor.
This latest fitment also expands Geolandar‘s presence within the Mitsubishi Motors line-up. In recent years, the Geolandar G94 has been utilised for the Triton and Pajero Sport.
