The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., has announced that it has begun supplying its ADVAN V61 tyres as original equipment (OE) for the new SEALION 6 DM-i SUV launched by BYD Company Ltd. in China. The SEALION 6 DM-i is being fitted with 235/50R19 103V size ADVAN V61 tyres and according to the manufacturer, “this is the first time Yokohama Rubber has supplied OE tyres to BYD.”

The ADVAN V61 tyre being supplied as OE is a SUV tyre in Yokohama Rubber’s global ADVAN brand range. The tyre offers ADVAN’s well-known driving performance, along with a balance of fuel and energy efficiency, handling stability, and quietness, achieving both comfortable city driving and long-distance touring for heavyweight SUVs. The ADVAN V61 is supplied as OE on many premium SUVs, and in addition to the size being utilised on the SEALION 6 DM-i, there is a wide range of sizes available for the replacement market.
The SEALION 6 DM-i is a plug-in hybrid vehicle that combines a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated gasoline engine (maximum output 74kW) with an electric motor (maximum output 160kW). It comes equipped with an 18.3 kWh or 26.6 kWh blade battery, which alternatively deliver driving ranges of 93km and 130km.
