Michelin debuts CrossClimate 3 and Sport: all-season, winter-rated tyres for all cars—including EVs and high-performance models.
CrossClimate 3 Sets New Standards for Michelin
Michelin has unveiled the third generation of its popular tyre lineup by introducing the CrossClimate 3 and the brand-new CrossClimate 3 Sport. For the first time, Michelin offers a winter-compatible, high-performance all-season tyre designed specifically for sporty vehicles and saloons.
With the new CrossClimate range, Michelin offers all-season tyres for all vehicle classes, regardless of the drive type (Internal Combustion Engine, hybrid, electric): from small cars to family cars and sports cars. This marks an expansion of the CrossClimate concept, which was first introduced in 2015 and later updated in 2021. With these additions, Michelin aims to set a new standard for sporty driving, performance, reliability, and durability.
“The all-season tyre segment has been growing continuously in Europe for years,” said Agostino Mazzocchi, Vice President of B2C Sales of Michelin Europe North Region. “Customers are demanding increasingly flexible and powerful solutions that meet the growing diversity of driving profiles. We can also see this dynamic in the light commercial vehicle segment, where all-season tyres are also recording double-digit annual growth.”
All tyres in the CrossClimate 3 family are produced at Michelin’s European manufacturing facilities, including sites in Germany (Bad Kreuznach), Spain (Valladolid and Vitoria), Hungary (Nyíregyháza), Italy (Cuneo), Poland (Olsztyn), and Serbia (Pirot). The most technically demanding models—primarily from the Sport variant—are manufactured in Roanne, France.
Sport Meets All-Season: The CrossClimate 3 Sport
Tailored for drivers of high-performance vehicles, the Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport offers dynamic handling without seasonal compromises. Engineered for precision and control in dry, wet, and even wintry conditions, the tyre features the 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Snowflake) marking, certifying its winter capability under European regulations.

The tyre carries the highest wet grip rating (A) according to the EU tyre label and is designed to meet the torque and weight demands of electric vehicles. Michelin equips it with its Dynamic-Response Technology—derived from motorsport—featuring a hybrid belt made of aramid and nylon to ensure immediate and accurate feedback on the road. The V-Shape tread design, with grooves that widen from the centre to the shoulder, enhances water evacuation and improves performance even when the tyre is worn.
Professional racing driver Matthieu Vaxivière, who tested the tyre on the roads of Auvergne, praised its duality. “The new Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport is as surprising as it is good! I felt like I was riding on a normal sports tyre. It combines comfort, precise handling and sportiness,” he said.
The CrossClimate 3 Sport will be available in 30 sizes ranging from 18 to 21 inches. The largest option, 295/35 R21 107Y, will hit markets starting July 1, 2025.
All-Purpose Excellence: The CrossClimate 3
Designed to fit everything from compact cars to family vehicles, the Michelin CrossClimate 3 provides stable, year-round performance—regardless of powertrain. The tyre adapts seamlessly to all weather conditions and retains its performance from the first to the last mile.
Compared to its predecessor, the CrossClimate 3 offers a four per cent better grip on wet roads and a 15 per cent increase in service life. It also carries the 3PMSF winter certification and is optimised for electric vehicles, making it a versatile choice for modern driving needs.
It will be available in 64 sizes, from 16 to 20 inches, beginning in July 2025.
