Hankook transforms Technoring into a playful 1:700 Lego model with help from Lego and master builder Wani Kim.
From Tiny Bricks to a Massive Proving Ground
Hankook‘s Technoring, which was inaugurated in 2023, is Asia’s biggest proving ground. But did you know that, recently, the Technoring has been “shrunk” to 1:700 scale?
In a collaboration with the largest tyre manufacturer in the world, Lego, and South Korea’s first Lego professional builder, Wani Kim, Hankook has built the Lego version of its Technoring, officially called The Hankook Technoring Brick Art.
“Hankook Technoring, Asia’s largest Tire Proving Ground, where tyre technology and performance are pushed to the limits in extreme conditions. Precision captured in brick-built details, and overwhelming speed unleashed on the track. From tiny bricks to a massive proving ground, the flow conveys the true scale and realism of Technoring,” Hankook wrote in its Instagram post.
In late September 2025, Hankook published two videos, which depict how the 1:700 Technoring was built, brick by brick, by Wani Kim. The first video shows how the Lego version uncannily matches the real version of the proving ground.
Several important areas of the Technoring were shown in both versions, from the office/control tower, the VDA (Vehicle Dynamic Area), the off-road testing site, and the HSO (High Speed Oval) track.
Meanwhile, the second video puts more focus on the cars—two real cars, one a Lego car—with Hankook tyres equipped to them. The real cars, one a white Porsche and one a black SUV, take on the challenges at the Technoring with the Lego car mimicking them on the miniature proving ground.
The video then ends with an animated Lego driver waving and smiling to the “camera” beside their Lego car.
