JK Tyre has launched India’s first Embedded Smart Tyres for passenger vehicles, featuring in-built sensors for real-time monitoring.

JK Tyre & Industries Ltd (JK Tyre) has launched the Embedded Smart Tyres, the first in India for the Passenger Vehicle (PV) segment. The company said the launch set a new industry benchmark in intelligent, connected, and sustainable mobility.
The tyres, which feature advanced sensors embedded within the structure, were developed in-house and manufactured at JK Tyre‘s Banmore facility in Madhya Pradesh. The sensors continuously monitor critical parameters, including air pressure, temperature, and potential air leaks, providing real-time, actionable insights to enhance safety, performance, and efficiency. Beyond safety, the Embedded Smart Tyres also provide longer tread life, improved fuel efficiency, and reduced environmental impact.
JK Tyre said the Embedded Smart Tyres‘ development is part of the company’s commitment to ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and the ‘Make in India’ vision. Speaking at the launch, Dr Raghupati Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director of JK Tyre, commented that the new tyres embody the company’s commitment to advancing tech-driven mobility.

JK Tyre‘s innovation journey reached a significant milestone when it introduced the ‘SMART Tyre’ technology in 2019, utilising TREEL sensors. This technology combines Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with cloud-based analytics. Since then, this connected mobility solution has gained strong traction among fleet operators and individual consumers.

The Embedded Smart Tyres are offered in the aftermarket through JK Tyre‘s dealerships, initially in sizes ranging from 14 to 17 inches.
