The new JK Tyre UX Royale Green uses certified sustainable materials to reduce reliance on fossil-based inputs.
The Tyre Made from 80% Bio-Circular and Circular Materials
JK Tyre & Industries Ltd (JK Tyre) has introduced the UX Royale Green, its first tyre developed using ISCC PLUS-certified raw materials. Developed at the company’s Chennai Tyre Plant, the tyre marks JK Tyre‘s commitment to sourcing alternative feedstocks to reduce reliance on fossil-based materials.
JK Tyre started developing the UX Royale Green, India’s first passenger car radial tyre created using 80 per cent of bio-circular and circular materials, in April 2023. This tyre, according to the company’s official statement, is a result of over a decade of dedicated research conducted by JK Tyre‘s Global Tech Centre.
The ISCC PLUS-certified raw materials that JK Tyre used to develop the UX Royale Green included bio-attributed polymers, renewable oils, recycled rubber powder, recovered carbonaceous black, recycled polyester, and steel wire. The company assures all materials were sourced under circular practice.
