S Fit 2: The First Laufenn Product To Be Selected As OE by European Manufacturers

Laufenn, a brand under Hankook Tire, has launched the S Fit 2, a new sporty summer tyre developed specifically for the European market that combines reliability with efficiency and durability.

The S Fit 2 is available in 94 sizes, ranging from 15 to 20 inches, with the SUV variant covering 16 to 20 inches. The tyre has been tested to handle the varied conditions across Europe, from high-speed cornering on hot asphalt to wet weather driving and urban use. It is the first Laufenn product to be selected as original equipment by European car manufacturers.

Stronger Handling, Less Rolling Resistance

In wet conditions, the S Fit 2 achieves an EU wet grip classification of A in almost 90 per cent of its sizes thanks to a high silica content in the compound and a convex tread block design. According to Laufenn, the tyre’s braking distance is 16 per cent shorter than its predecessor, while wet handling has improved by 10 per cent, making it more stable at high speeds. Meanwhile, water evacuation is supported by the presence of four large linear grooves.

On efficiency, the tyre carries a rolling resistance rating of B-C, and a new polymer generation has delivered a 15 per cent increase in mileage compared to the previous model. Its optimised tread design also reduces noise and vibration for a more comfortable ride. The S Fit 2 also bears a special EV sidewall marking on sizes suitable for plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles, a feature that will be applied across future products.

The fact that the tyre is also being used as original equipment for the first time is an important milestone and shows that Laufenn is continuing to gain substance in the European market,” said Jang Hyuk Moon, Vice President of the Marketing Department at Hankook Tire Europe.
