Falken ZIEX ZE320 Ranks Second Overall and Sets Wet Braking Benchmark
The Falken ZIEX ZE320 has delivered a strong result in the Autoflotte summer tyre test. With a total score of 791, the tyre ranked second overall.
Tested in size 235/55 R18, the ZIEX Z320‘s safety in wet conditions stood out, setting the benchmark in the longitudinal aquaplaning at 80.8 km/h. It also performed admirably in lateral aquaplaning and in critical cornering situations. The tyre’s wet braking distance of 36.1 m earned a “good” rating, and its wet handling, with precise steering response and driving stability, was equally convincing.
In dry handling, the Falken ZIEX Z320 received a “fast sehr gut” (almost very good) rating and was described as “highly agile” in corners, thanks to its precise lane stability and clear feedback. The tyre’s wet braking capability was even more impressive. With a stopping distance of 33.6 m from 100 km/h, it achieved the best result in the category.
The Falken ZIEX ZE320 also excelled in efficiency and comfort tests. Its rolling resistance of 6.7 kg/t was among the very best, even when compared to premium competitors. When it comes to interior noise, the tyre managed to secure the spot just behind the top-rated tyre. Meanwhile, in the ride comfort test, the ZIEX Z320 led the field and received a “very good” rating from the German monthly trade journal.
Overall, the Falken ZIEX ZE320 combines outstanding aquaplaning performance, first‑class braking, high comfort characteristics and precise handling into a well‑balanced package. This makes it an especially attractive option for SUV drivers seeking a blend of safety, comfort, dynamic driving performance, and reliability.
Falken said any purchase of the tyre will be backed by a five-year guarantee.
