Hankook Tire received the Ford 2025 QR Zero Award, recognising the Geumsan Plant for achieving zero quality rejections and warranty claims.
Geumsan Plant Becomes First Hankook Facility to Win Ford QR Zero Award
Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) has received the 2025 QR Zero Award from Ford, the American automaker’s most prestigious supplier quality recognition, presented at Hankook‘s Technoplex headquarters in Pangyo, South Korea.
The QR Zero Award is granted exclusively to global partners that have achieved zero quality rejections in parts supply and zero warranty claims over the past year, reaffirming Hankook Tire‘s top-tier quality. Its Geumsan Plant, which supplies original equipment tyres for Ford F-150, received the award, becoming the first of Hankook‘s eight global manufacturing facilities to earn the distinction.
Hankook Tire has a history with Ford that dates back to 1999, when it became the first Asian tyre company to establish a relationship with the automaker. Since 2003, Hankook has been the original equipment (OE) tyres supplier for the F-150 pickup truck and, in the years that followed, it has also been trusted to provide OE tyres for other Ford models, including the Mustang, Explorer, Ranger, Focus, and Mondeo. Most recently, Hankook has supplied OE tyres for Ford’s all-electric SUV, the Mustang Mach-E, cementing its status as a world leader in EV tyre development.
The Geumsan Plant’s achievement marks an important step forward in Hankook Tire‘s overall quality. Before this, all of its eight plants have received the Q1 Award from Ford, which measures compliance with Ford’s standards across quality, production systems, and technological innovation. Hankook is also implementing big data and AI-based quality management systems as part of its internal Quality No. 1 strategy.
Hankook Tire supplies OE tyres to more than 40 automotive brands worldwide and conducts development and testing across its Technoplex headquarters, the Technodome R&D centre, and the Technoring test track, described as the largest of its kind in Asia.
