AUTOBACS Debut at Automechanika Kuala Lumpur
AUTOBACS Car Service Malaysia, a leading one-stop car service centre for car maintenance service, wholesale and retail business, took part for the first time in the recently concluded 2019 edition of Automechanika Kuala Lumpur.
From the letters in the company’s name, Appeal, Unique, Tyres, Oil, Batteries, Accessories, Car electronics and Services, one could clearly identify the core of its business.
Participating at the show, AUTOBACS Car Service Malaysia’s primary focus was on its new engine oil. “To provide better performance for better driving, we decided to launch our own brand of engine oil. Co-developed with a famous oil brand, quality is ensured by full quality control during the production process and through inspection at our own facilities. Thus, when one chooses our engine oil, they could be sure of the authentic Japanese quality and reliability,” said Director Hiroaki Nezu.
Launched at the end of last year was its range of fully synthetic engine oil, the AUTOBACS 5W-30 SN/CF/GF-5, 0W-20 SN/GF-5, 5W-40 SN/CF and 0W-30 SN/GF-5.
The 5W-30 SN/CF/GF-5, he said, was AUTOBACS high quality engine oil that was specially designed and formulated with highly improved fuel efficiency compared to the conventional 5W-30 oils from the other manufacturers. It is said to be suitable for vehicles with large displacement engines and vehicles with high-output engines, including turbocharged models.
Made using synthetic-based SN/GF-5 oil, the 0W-20 SN/GF-5 is ideal for gasoline engines, including hybrid cars and cars with idling stop function as well as cars that are designated to use 0W-20 oil. Its low viscosity reduces friction on lubricated engine parts and contributes to fuel saving.
Suitable for vehicles with large engine displacements or high output (including turbocharged models) driven at extreme temperatures is the 5W-40 SN/CF. He said this 5W-40 SN/CF oil surpassed oil deterioration during long drives at high revolutions and high load, and was suitable for both gasoline and diesel vehicles.
Meanwhile, the 0W-30 SN/GF-5 contains PAO (Poly-a-Olefin) for ‘excellent’ cold start performance with improved fuel economy. It is suitable for gasoline and diesel engines in four-wheel vehicles, eco-friendly vehicles like hybrid cars and cars with idling stop function from makers that recommend 0W-20 Oil.
The company has just signed a contract with CKL recently, appointing it as the official distributor of AUTOBACS engine oil for the Malaysian market.
“Apart from the fully synthetic engine oils, we plan to launch AUTOBACS semi-synthetic lubricants in the second quarter of the year,” he revealed.
The company already launched its engine oil in Singapore and would launch it in the Philippines this month. It also distributes its engine oil to other countries, with Russia and China being the two main markets.
Currently, he said, the company had 4 outlets in Malaysia, including 2 outlets of its own in Johor Bahru and 2 franchise outlets, 1 in Klang and the other in Johor Bahru.
“We have plans to expand our retailing network but would do it step by step. The focus for us right now is to build our brand,” he added.
Also on the display were wiper blades, body coating, batteries, oil filters and Axis audio systems.
AUTOBACS Car Service Malaysia is the subsidiary of AUTOBACS Seven Co, Ltd, a public-listed company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

马来西亚AUTOBACS 汽车服务参展的主要目的是介绍其最新的机油。“为了提供更好的性能和驾驶，我们决定推出我们自己品牌的机油。我们与著名的石油品牌合作，确保在整个生产过程中拥有最完整的品质控制，并通过我们自己的设施进行检验。因此，当消费者选择我们的机油时，他们能够确定的是其真正的日本品质和可靠性。”董事根津宏昭（Hiroaki Nezu）表示。
去年，该公司推出的全合成机油系列包括AUTOBACS 5W-30 SN/CF/GF-5、 0W-20 SN/GF-5、 5W-40 SN/CF 及 0W-30 SN/GF-5。
他说 ，5W-30 SN/CF/GF-5是采用独特配方制成的高品质全合成机油。与其它制造商生产的传统5W-30机油相比，拥有高度改善的燃油效率。据悉，该款机油适合大排量的引擎和搭载高输出引擎的汽车使用，包括涡轮增压器模型。
以SN/GF-5合成基础油制成的0W-20 SN/GF-5机油，适合汽油引擎，包括混合动力汽车和配备怠速停止功能的汽车，以及那些被指定使用OW-20机油的车辆。其较低的粘度可降低润滑引擎部件的摩擦，带来燃油节省。
至于 5W-40 SN/CF机油，则适合在极端温度下的高输出大排量引擎（包括涡轮增压器模型）采用。他说，5W-40 SN/CF机油，在高转速和高负荷的长期驾驶下，超过石油恶化，适合汽油和柴油车辆。
与此同时，含有聚烯烃的0W-30 SN/GF-5，可提供卓越的冷启动性能，改善燃油经济。它适用于汽油及柴油引擎的四驱车、环保车辆如混合动力车和配备怠速停止功能，被制造商指定使用OW-20机油的汽车。
该公司最近才与CKL签署合约，委任CKL为AUTOBACS的全马机油授权经销商。
“除了全合成机油，我们计划在今年第二季推出AUTOBACS半合成机油。”他透露说。
该公司的机油已在新加坡发布，并将在这个月于菲律宾推出。他们也将其机油销售到其它国家，俄罗斯和中国是他们的两大主要市场。
他说，该公司目前在马来西亚有4家分店，包括两家位于新山的全资分店 和两家，分别位于巴生和新山的特许权商店。
“我们计划扩展我们的零售网络，但是会按部就班地进行。目前我们将注意力放在建立我们的品牌上。”他补充说。
该公司也在该展会中展示其它产品，如雨刷、车身涂料、电池、机油过滤器及Axis音响系统。
