GRI Motivates Sri Lankan Children about the Importance of Education

GRI has undertaken an initiative aimed at empowering the children of natural rubber farmers in Sri Lanka. In collaboration with local stakeholders, GRI conducted a motivational program focusing on the theme of “Importance of Education and Disciplines of Students” by the Lecture Mr. Ajith Jayawardena, a motivational speaker from a leading institution in Sri Lanka.

The program, held in a high school at Badalkumbura in Monaragala District, brought together young minds eager to explore the realms of education, aspirations, and discipline. Through workshops, activities, and discussions, the participants were enlightened about the critical role education plays in shaping their futures and the broader community.

“Education is not merely a gateway to individual success; it is the cornerstone of societal progress,” remarked Dr. Mahesha Ranasoma, CEO of GRI. “By instilling the value of education in the hearts and minds of these young learners, we are sowing the seeds for a brighter future for the Sri Lankan natural rubber industry.”

One of the key highlights of the program was the emphasis on discipline as a catalyst for personal growth and achievement. Participants were encouraged to cultivate habits of diligence, perseverance, and responsibility, recognizing that discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.

“This program has been an eye-opener for me and now I understand the importance of staying focused on my studies and maintaining discipline in all aspects of my life. I feel inspired and motivated to pursue my dreams with renewed vigour,” stated one of the students who participated in the program.

This initiative is a part of the GREEN X CIRCLE, an effort to build a stronger bond between GRI and the natural rubber farmer community.

“Sri Lankan natural rubber farmers are important stakeholders in the GRI ecosystem. This ecosystem focuses on sustainability and aims to inspire the farming communities by recognizing their hard work as well as providing the required knowledge for their development,” says the company in an official statement.
