Based in Skudai, Johor, Chin Heng Tyre Pro Sdn Bhd is led by Director Gan Chin Hwa, who has more than 30 years of experience in the truck servicing industry.
Skudai Dealer Invests in Wheel Alignment
According to Gan, the company had been considering the Hunter HD Elite Wheel Balancer since it was introduced to the Malaysian market by Newera Equipment Supply Sdn Bhd about three years ago, before finally investing in the machine three months ago.
“We have relied on Hunter tyre servicing equipment for many years, including its wheel balancing machines, so upgrading to the HD Elite was a natural decision,” said Gan. “The machine offers advanced diagnostic capabilities that can accurately identify vibration-related issues in heavy-duty wheel assemblies. Its patented Vision System and Road Force diagnostic technology make balancing bus and truck wheels much easier and more precise, enabling us to resolve vibration problems more efficiently.”
Claimed as the world’s number one heavy-duty diagnostic balancer, Gan said the HD Elite can automatically measure tyre and rim runout (eccentricity) and complete wheel balancing faster than traditional balancers. Equipped with Hunter’s patented Laser Vision System, the machine eliminates the need for manual measurements and visual estimation, reducing operator errors by automatically measuring wheel dimensions, selecting the correct weight mode and detecting rim runout.
Eliminates Vehicle Vibrations
“The system provides more accurate balancing results and can automatically identify the ideal weight placement to prevent vibration issues and reduce customer comebacks. Its high weight capacity also allows it to handle large heavy-duty wheel assemblies,” he explained.
This investment, Gan added, not only improves workshop productivity but also helps the company deliver more accurate servicing, strengthening customer confidence and enhancing the service centre’s professional image.
“For fleet customers, the HD Elite balancing service helps improve safety and driver comfort while reducing operating costs. By extending tyre life, improving fuel efficiency and minimising vehicle downtime, it provides greater value for fleet operators. Heavy wheel vibrations can cause premature wear to components such as wheel bearings, shock absorbers and steering linkages. By eliminating these vibrations, the system helps protect critical chassis components and reduce unnecessary repair costs,” he said.
Gan also highlighted that the HD Elite Wheel Balancer is easy to operate, with training provided by Newera to help technicians get started. He added that the balancer supports multiple languages, allowing operators to switch between languages directly from the main touchscreen interface for added convenience.
“We were the first customer in Malaysia to invest in the HD Elite Wheel Balancer, and we have also invested in Hunter’s heavy-duty wheel alignment system, which is recognised as one of the leading heavy-duty alignment solutions in the world. We continue to choose Hunter equipment because of its globally recognised tyre servicing technology. Equally important, Newera has consistently supported us with reliable after-sales service,” he said.
Chin Heng Tyre Pro was established by Gan in 2018, but his experience in the truck tyre industry began at the age of 12, when he learned the trade from his grandfather. By 19, he was working full-time at his father’s truck tyre servicing centre in Johor Bahru.
Today, the company operates as a one-stop truck servicing centre, providing tyre sales and servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, chassis repairs and roadside assistance. As a Tayago member, Chin Heng Tyre Pro benefits from access to a nationwide service network, enabling customers to receive support when travelling outside Johor. Tayago’s tyre distribution network also gives the company access to Pirelli and Aeolus products, allowing it to offer customers a wider range of tyre solutions.
Serving mainly transport operators and lorry fleets, the company recommends tyres based on cargo, road conditions and operating requirements. Looking ahead, Gan aims to strengthen his team, enhance technical capabilities and establish another truck servicing centre to support future growth.
