Keat Cheong Auto Services Centre in Penang recently bought the Corghi Uniformity tyre changer and EyeLight wheel balancer from Corida Sdn Bhd.
Claimed as the world’s first tyre changer with a diagnosis function, Corghi Uniformity has successfully won the owner’s heart.
“Equipped with press roll and laser sensors, the Corghi Uniformity diagnostic tyre changer is able to detect rim and tyre defects. It would inform us on the best way to mount the tyre on the rim (match-mounting), which solves the general vibration problems arising from the geometric defects of material irregularities. It helps us to reduce our work time as half of the steps that were previously required are eliminated, allowing us to increase our productivity and efficiency,” said the equipment owner Chong Joo Leong.
The EyeLight, one of Corghi’s new diagnostic performance wheel balancer, was designed to be fully automatic with a touchscreen monitor. Suitable for passenger cars and lightweight trucks, the unit comes with a rim and tyre scanning system via a video camera and lasers. According to Corghi, the EyeLight could perform a comprehensive diagnosis of the wheel while the iPos function recommends the optimal position for mounting the wheels on the vehicle.
“Our whole wheel balancing process is greatly improved in both accuracy and speed, thanks to the EyeLight. It is important to continue embracing new technology to better serve customers and stay competitive. Moreover, using the advanced equipment also helps to enhance our professional image.”
Chong praised Corida for providing the company with premium and good quality products that are backed by good after-sales service. “With their products, we could identify and solve our customer’s problems. The training that they provided was useful as it helped us to familiarise with the equipment and make full use of the innovative functions. We intend to purchase more equipment from Corida when we open new outlets and are happy to introduce them to others.”
Keat Cheong Auto was established in 1986 by Chong’s father. Chong took over the company in 1977. Today, the company has grown and become a one-stop tyre service centre with 16 staff, including office personnel.
“Other than servicing private cars and company fleets, we are also Audi’s authorised service workshop,” added Chong.
