On November 25th Falken Tyre Europe GmbH participated in raising awareness for “Orange Day”, the internationally recognized 16-day campaign “for the elimination of violence against women and girls” that runs until December 10th.

Falken Shows its Committment to Equality

To give “Orange Day” visibility at Falken’s Offenbach City Tower headquarters in Germany, the usual evening lighting in the foyer was switched off from 5 pm to 10 pm. In its place, energy-saving LED lights illuminated the space in orange. The lighting was also sourced locally, provided by Offenbach-based SLP-Event und Medientechnik, a full-service provider of event technology in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region.

In addition, Falken’s female employees had the opportunity to take part in a workshop focused on self-assertion and self-defence and learn verbal and physical techniques to defend themselves against attacks. These workshops took place at Song Moo Frauenkampfkunst Offenbach e.V. and could be attended even during working hours.

To raise awareness further, Falken’s actions were communicated to all employees within the City Tower and beyond on Falken’s social media channels.

"Falken employs staff from 24 nations and prides itself on diversity and the inclusion of all cultures and backgrounds. Therefore, it was an easy decision to get involved in “Orange Day” this year to raise awareness for such an important issue,” said Jürgen Steuer, Manager of Human Resources and General Affairs at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH. "Take up for our workshops has been accepted by so many female colleagues. We will continue to offer support for our staff members going forward.”
