Triangle Tyre Deepens 17-Year Relationship With BYD
Triangle Tyre has been chosen to supply original equipment (OE) tyres for the 2026 BYD Sealion 06 EV, with its TH801 PLUS EV tyre fitted as standard on the model. The selection was first announced during BYD’s “Flash Charge China, Change the World” launch event in Shenzhen on March 5.
The TH801 PLUS, sized 235/55R19, has been specifically engineered for the demands of electric vehicles, including high torque output and low noise requirements. Triangle Tyre said the tyre has been optimised for wet grip, noise reduction, and driving stability to complement the Sealion 06 EV’s powertrain and chassis system.
Triangle Tyre‘s relationship with BYD dates back to 2009, when its commercial vehicle tyres first appeared on BYD buses. The partnership subsequently extended into passenger vehicles, covering models including the F0, Seagull, Dolphin, E7, Qin L, and Seal. The 2026 Sealion 06 EV fitment represents a step forward in the collaboration, especially as BYD’s new energy vehicle business continues to expand.
Commenting on the appointment, one Triangle Tyre R&D personnel said, “We are not simply providing a tyre, but crafting a ‘dedicated electric shoe’ for the Sealion 06 EV. The TH801 PLUS is the result of deep integration between technology and scene, achieving true vehicle-specific customisation.”
